Best Cornbread Ever

I’ve always been someone who would make cornbread from a box or package.  This is the very first time I’ve made it by scratch and what a huge difference!  I couldn’t believe this was made from Thrive’s powder ingredients!  The only thing that was NOT a Thrive ingredient was the vinegar….and water.

I served this last night at my Thrive partyalong with the spreadable honey butter….my latest discovery….this butter is so good…incredible!

Anyhoo, today I had some leftover so I made some potato soup and it was perfect.


Note:  all these ingredients were powdered.  The butter, the eggs..everything (except the vinegar).  And believe it or not, this is the moistest cornbread ever.

This is so good warm as well as cold. Perfect with spreadable honey butter!
  • 3 Tablespoons Thrive Powdered Milk (dry, non-instant)
  • 2 Cups Thrive White Flour
  • 2 Cups Thrive Cornmeal (I love this because it is whole grain!)
  • 1 1/3 Cups Thrive White Sugar
  • 1 Cup Thrive Butter Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Thrive Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Thrive Salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Thrive Egg Powder
  • 2 1/2 Cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Vinegar
  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients and make a well in the middle.
  3. If you are using a non-Thrive powdered milk you need to break up any clumps as these will not bake out.
  4. Add water and vinegar and stir well.
  5. The batter will be a little runny – a few lumps is okay.
  6. Pour batter into a 9 x 13 greased pan and bake for 30 minutes or until done (toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean).
